Here’s What’s Trending In Kitchen Design Today!

Last updated on December 27th, 2024

The kitchen is the most lively part of your home. Not only does it have the most footfalls in the house, but it is also the one space where your creativity with food comes to life. This also happens to be your comfort zone, where you expect to have a peaceful moment, with a comforting cup of tea, after a stressful day of work. (What with the non-stop zoom calls!)

From using DIY chalk paint on one of the cabinets to investing in smart appliances, there’s an unending list of things you can incorporate in your kitchen, to make it look trendy and refreshing. And since cooking is a therapeutic experience for many, to take up it a notch, we have a few suggestions to help you make the most of your kitchen space. Have a look!

Cool down with Blues

More often than not, we like to keep our kitchens simple and stay away from too many colors. But the pandemic, that has brought with it unending working hours spent staring at our screens throughout the day, has also brought out the need to spruce up our homes! And if there’s one sure-shot way to cool down while working from home, it’s got to be adding some blue hues to your space – including and not limited to – the kitchen. Blue has a strange way of calming us down and refreshing the space it is used in. Giving your kitchen a single blue wall or giving your cabinets a blue upgrade can give your kitchen the instant lifting up it’s been crying out for!

Invest in Fascinating Flooring

With such gorgeous, walls and cabinets, why leave the floor behind! While choosing tiles for the kitchen floor, most of us go for utilitarian, anti-skid ones. After all, they’re just kitchen tiles, right? Wrong!
How about choosing tiles that are both functional and stunning? How about going crazy with the canvas that is your kitchen floor? You can choose from checkered patterns, herringbone tiles, mosaics, or intricate Moroccan designs. Anything that complements, or better yet, brings out the colors of the cabinets and your kitchen’s aesthetics!

Grow Green

There’s nothing like garnishing that favorite Italian recipe that you’re cooking, with herbs from your own garden! And trust us, growing your own veggies and herbs is a fun hobby you won’t regret picking up.
Time to roll up your sleeves then (quite literally!), fetch some soil from a nursery, and get your hands dirty! You can start with easy-to-grow herbs like thyme, basil, coriander, or mint, and use mini pots or even spare mason jars. Put up a shelf to keep these pots and dedicate a wall where sunlight falls, to create your own showstopper of a kitchen garden.

How about a Tech Upgrade

Alexa, make me a cup of Espresso.” We have been having fun with Alexa and Siri for a long time now. It’s about time we gave the kitchen some tech-love! From accessing recipes off the internet, setting the tone with mood lighting, or playing your favorite music as you cook, there are so many things in your kitchen that are just a voice command away. If you are tech-savvy and love to bring home the latest gadgets, go right ahead, and give your kitchen that upgrade to make cooking interesting, fun, and uber-cool!

Get Vintage back

Whoever said, old is gold, wasn’t entirely wrong! Remember how our moms and grandmoms have always had those old copper pots and pans in their kitchens? No matter how much Indian kitchens evolve, this cookware is never going out of fashion. So, if you happen to have inherited this collection, consider yourself lucky.

Just choose the least crowded wall in your kitchen, give it a brick texture (think peel-and-stick wallpaper), install two to three shelves, and show off your copper collection! You’ll be amazed at the luxurious feel it lends to your kitchen.
