Homemade cleaning hacks seem to be the most sought-after topic on the internet. From YouTube, and Facebook, to Pinterest and Instagram – homemade cleaning hacks can be found everywhere, in abundance. The videos depicting lemon cutting through tough stains, or cola cleaning the toilet make us wonder if these hacks actually work.
So, here we are! We’ve tested 6 famous cleaning hacks to check if they actually work. Here’s what we found:
1. Vinegar Microwave Cleaner
The vinegar microwave cleaning hack is our all-time favorite. It works wonderfully, hardly requires any effort, and does what it says, pretty well. All you have to do is add 2 tsp of vinegar and 2 cups of water in a bowl and add toothpick to it, and microwave. The toothpick prevents the water from boiling out of the bowl.
2. Cleaning a Faucet with Lemon
This hack works like magic! All you have to do: Rub the faucet with a lemon wedge on the faucet, wash them with plain water, and wipe it out with a soft cloth. The acidic component of the lemon helps breaking down the stains and shine the faucet.
3. Homemade Window Spray
This homemade window spray is a blessing for anyone looking to eliminate store-brought toxic cleaners. Combine water, alcohol, liquid dish washing soap in a spray bottle. You can also add essential oil in to the liquid for freshness. Use it on windows and mirrors to get rid of stains.
4. Shower Track Cleaner
After prolonged use, the shower door track area gets dirty with mold and rust. To clean this area, soak a paper towel in vinegar and place it on the shower track. Now, let it sit for some time, and scrub it out. You will be surprised to see the result!
5. Tong Window Blind Duster
Window blinds accumulate a lot of dust, and cleaning them is quite a tough task! Not anymore! To clean the blinds wrap a soft cloth around a kitchen tong, and secure it with rubber band. Now, clean the area!
6.Vinegar Shower Head Cleaner
We all have faced this issue! After prolonged use, the shower head accumulates iron and calcium particles. Get rid of it by dipping the shower head in vinegar for 30 mins. The calcium build-up will disappear and the water flow will significantly increase.
