Mirrors are a great way to decorate your home, especially if you have a small home. They are good for many reasons. They don’t just reflect light, but also open up closed spaces making them look bigger and brighter.
Mirrors can be made to look modern, classic, retro, or traditional just by the frame you choose to hang them in. And the effect that these different types of mirrors will have is entirely different. Let’s take a look at a few different ways of using mirrors to not just beautify a living space, but to expand it visually.
1. It isn’t a great idea to hang a mirror just based on the available space. It’s important to look at what will get reflected in it. Hanging it opposite a beautiful lamp, a painting, or furniture will draw more attention to the item and make it look more appealing.
2.It is a great idea to place a full-length mirror in a tiny space. Mirrors create depth in a space and can work wonders at making a small room appear big.
A full-length mirror can also be used as a decorative element to add character to the tiny space and at the same time expand it several folds.
3. It’s a good idea to hang a mirror across from a window.
It will double the amount of light getting filtered into the room and make it appear brighter and airier.
4. Other than placing a mirror opposite an object that you want to draw focus on, a mirror should be hung or kept at an appropriate height. It doesn’t need to be at eye level but placed according to what you want to be reflected.
5. Mirrors are also great for narrow hallways
They help expand the space visually.
