One of the banes of existence of our lives – an aspiration for our lives and homes to look like a Pinterest board. But in reality, those homes are staged and those pictures touched, to make them look the way they do.
But you can make yours look as good, sans the staging and the Photoshop. Read on to know how!

A coffee table is more than just a place to put your feet on or set down the occasional drink. But if you’ve got to put up a picture of yours on Pinterest, it needs to be able to do more than just this. Create an interesting display of books, curios, and artwork, and give your coffee table a Pinterest-worthy makeover, like this!
2. Create stunning vignettes
This is one aspect of home décor that we ignore quite often. A well-styled home needs to have points of interest in a couple of places. This can be done by creating vignettes – or a few objects of varying textures and heights placed together in stunning-looking groups, so as to get people to linger and notice every item.
3. Plan a nice-looking gallery wall
Take on this fun project and create a gallery wall with good doses of your personality and aesthetic sensibilities. Just choose old photographs, quirky quotes, and some unique artwork and hang them all up, starting with the biggest pieces, using them as focal points.

What makes those Pinterest bedrooms look so arresting, while ours, no matter how beautifully done, fade in comparison? Maybe it’s time to take a hard look at the focal point of your bedroom – the bed. How much thought and planning has gone to the fabrics and materials we’ve chosen for it? Not enough, if we want to be honest. Time to change that, because Pinterest tells us that a well-styled bed can sometimes make all the difference. Spend time, thought, and well, money and curate everything from the sheets and pillowcases to the duvets and blankets, for that well-put-together appearance.
5. Throw in some amazing accessories
This is the one striking feature that all homes from Pinterest have in common – their stunning collection of accessories. It might be time for you to stop buying things on impulse. Something that looks great on a display shelf at the store, might not look even half as good after you bring it home. Plan your buys. Think them through. Pick up stuff only when you’re sure where you will place them at home.
