Does Your Bedroom Have These Five Essential things?

Last updated on April 1st, 2022

Everyone’s idea of a perfect bedroom is different. But despite the different personal preferences and varying budgets, here are 5 must-have bedroom essentials for a comfortable, interesting, and well, ‘perfect’ bedroom design.

Read on, and get set to create the bedroom of your dreams.

1. High-quality Bed-linen

This is one aspect that you cannot compromise on. The quality of your bed linen doesn’t just decide the coziness quotient of your bed, but can also make or break the overall look of your bedroom. Consider it an investment you’ll not regret making. Coordinated sheets, duvet, and pillow covers in Egyptian cotton, preferably in a higher thread count, should do the trick.

2. The right number of pillows

Here’s a quick question for you. How many pillows and/or cushions should a bed have? Before we give you the answer, here’s a fact. Having too few or too many pillows on the bed happens to be one of the most common mistakes that people make with their bedroom. And now for that answer. 4-6 pillows and cushions work the best in any bed with an accent cushion to add some visual interest.

3. A plush rug under the feet

A bed is very important in a bedroom. But the next best thing to lying in this cozy cocoon is stepping out of it and being able to sink your feet into something nice and soft. Wouldn’t you agree? That’s exactly where a plush rug comes in. And not just that, it also performs the important function of framing your bed and covering the negative floor space around it. How about getting one then?

4. A Cozy Chair

Something that people hardly give a second thought to, is a cozy chair at the side or a bench at the foot of the bed, which is so important in a bedroom. Your bed shouldn’t be the only place you sit. Reserve it for the nights. Get a chair that you can sit on as you send out an urgent email or tie your shoe laces.

5. At least one thing that sparks joy!

No bedroom is complete unless it has that one element that makes you happy the moment you set eyes on it. It could be a large painting that you absolutely love, a lamp that appeals to your heart, or even a cushion that’s been your companion since your childhood days. And it doesn’t just make you happy, this one object also lends character to your personal space, which would otherwise just be a nicely done space with no soul.

Happy decorating, folks!
