July Checklist: 6 Household Tasks You Need To Get Done This Month!

Last updated on June 5th, 2021

With all the responsibilities and commitments that we have, it is no surprise that we often forget to address a few basic cleaning and maintaining tasks. So, to help you steer through the month of July, we have come up with this month’s cleaning and housekeeping checklist. This month’s checklist will help you tackle your hectic schedule and provide you with a happy and healthy home.

1. Clean Up Your Closet

Monthly Cleaning Checklist

The world is going minimalist. Then, why is your closet in a state of war? Start the month of July by striking this dreadful task off your checklist. Take a good look at your closet and take out garments that you have not worn in the last 6 months, and let your closet breathe.

2. Make A Difference By Donating Something

Monthly Cleaning Checklist

The clothes that you have just taken out of the closet are of no use to you. So, instead of just tossing them away, why not make them count? Contact a local NGO and donate what you don’t wish to wear again! Also, if you have any bulky piece of furniture, that you were planning to get rid of soon, now is the time to do it.

3. Inspect & Repair Windows

Monthly Cleaning Checklist

Let the summer sun fill your home with its vibrant hues by giving your windows a quick cleaning. Make use of a store-bought glass cleaner or DIY a homemade solution by mixing vinegar and water in equal quantities and wipe them using a microfibre fabric. If you are dealing with an extremely dirty window with grimy glass, we recommend washing it off with some soapy water, before cleaning it up with the DIY solution.

4. Check Your Locks

Monthly Cleaning Checklist

When was the last time you checked the locks around the house? If it has been quite a while, then it is a good idea to check them now. If you have a home automation system in place, then it might be a good idea to check if the software needs to be updated, if the battery needs to be changed, and if the system is functioning properly.

5. Revive Your Book Collection

Monthly Cleaning Checklist

If you love to spend time reading, then you probably have a pile of books lying idle (unless you love reading from your Kindle!). This month, we suggest you clean your bookshelf! Segregate them in the following way: books that you have already read, the ones you wish to read, the classics or timeless ones that stay, and books that you have never read or ever wish to read. Once done, take a hard look at all the stacks and donate the ones that you don’t ever plan to read. This way, you will be able to make space for more books!

6. Spruce Up Your Balcony

Monthly Cleaning Checklist

Balcony is an often-overlooked area when it comes to decor. But not anymore! This month, it is time to spruce up your balcony. So, get ready to do a deep cleaning of the area, eliminate all the unwanted stuff, and bring home some potted plants, a small folding table and chair set!
