There’s something magical about watching a movie under the stars. Needless to say, organizing such get togethers is a great way to spend time with your family and bond with your friends and neighbors. Whether you have an enormous lawn or a humble balcony, here are a few handy tips and tricks to organize an amazing movie night outdoors.
1. Pick a Movie
One of the most important and crucial tips to organize a movie night is to select the right movie. Consider the crowd while you pick the flick for the eve. If kids are coming, then think of some movie that both adults and children can enjoy. Or, you can even create a WhatsApp group for the movie night and ask your guests for suggestions.
2. Put the word out!
Create some adorable invites and pass them out to your guests. There are several websites, where you can create amazing invitations in minutes.
3. Rent a Projector
Now that you have already picked the movie and sent out invites, the next step is to keep the equipment ready for the night. You will require a projector and a large screen to project the movie. If you don’t have a projector in place, think of renting one. Obviously, you could also buy one if money isn’t a constraint, or if you think it’s something worth putting resources into. Once the projector is in place, do a quick check to see if all the cables and gears are in place. There’s nothing more disappointing than a projector breakdown in the middle of a movie. Also, keep in mind the speakers and the white screen. However, ensure to keep the volume under control so that you don’t end up disturbing others.
4. Ensure Comfortable Seating
Another important thing to take care of: Ensure that you have arranged comfortable seating for your guests. In case temperatures are soaring, place rugs and throw pillows in the area. For cooler nights opt for stackable chairs and throw blankets. Also, before the movie night, don’t forget to clear your outdoor area and spray some bug repellent.
5. Organize Treats!
What’s a movie without treats? Snacks enhance the experience of watching a movie together. So keep plenty of snacks like popcorn, nachos, sandwiches for your guests. Also, don’t forget the drinks – popcorn can make you very thirsty.
Happy movie-viewing, folks!
