We are all hoarders. Whether we like to admit it or not. Buying more and more things that we may or may not need or ever end up using, without discarding or giving away things at home, that are way past their prime! And that leaves us on a constant lookout for more and more storage space in the limited square footage we have. Well, we better get creative then!
Here are 5 super-smart ideas you can start with today:
1. Under-the-bed storage
There’s a lot you can hide under your bed. Even if your bed doesn’t come with built-in storage. Just get your local handyman to attach a few rollers under old suitcases (painted in the same shade?) and slide them under your bed. Use them to store bed linen and other bric-a-brac and keep them all within easy reach. No extra cost and some vintage storage at your disposal! Is that clever or what!
2. Tree-branch hanger (Yes, you read that right)
You can suspend a sturdy tree branch off the ceiling and device an uber-chic open closet. Don’t believe us? See it for yourself! Do lean a few branches on the adjacent wall for a cohesive look.
3. Crates as cabinets
Those used crates have finally found their life purpose! Stack them together for industrial- chic cabinets in your study or home office! Paint them, if you aren’t crazy about the worn look.
4. No-frills floating shelves
Get your carpenter or local handyman to design these suave leather belt shelves (that are so easy to make) and get some heavy-duty and stylish storage!
5. Peg-board organizer
Bid goodbye to clutter on your table by hanging a pegboard to pin your stuff on. No more last-minute hunting for missing items!
Happy decorating, folks!
