Have you ever come across gorgeous twine ball lights and wondered if you can make them at home? Well, you are in luck, as we have created for you an easy tutorial that will help you make these beautiful lights in no time, and with a few very basic supplies that you may have lying around the house! Read on and prepare to get creative!
Things You Will Need:
- A Few Balloons
- Some Corn Starch
- A Plastic Container
- Synthetic Adhesive (Like Fevicol)
- A Wide Brush
- Some Acrylic Color (any color of your choice)
- Petroleum Jelly
- A Piece Of Twine
Inflate a balloon and secure it with a thread or rubber band. Apply petroleum jelly on the surface of it with the help of a wide brush. This step is important for us to be able to remove the twine easily, later. Now, make a mixture of the adhesive, cornstarch, and acrylic paint, and keep it aside.
Dip the twine in the mixture and start wrapping it around the balloon in no particular fashion. Once finished, keep it aside to dry. You can balance the balloon on top of the plastic container so that it can dry completely. You can also use a hairdryer to dry it faster. Just make sure you don’t go too close to the balloon with the dryer. Once the twine has dried completely, deflate the balloon with the help of a needle and pull it out of the hard structure.
And voila! Your gorgeous twine ball is ready. Make several of them using different colors and hang them all together at different heights to create a stunning piece of artwork, that is so easy to create and will garner loads of attention!
You can even make a small hole on one side of the balls and insert light bulbs into them, turning your handywork into a pretty DIY chandelier.
