From making small interior changes, getting your outdoors summer-ready, to honing your household skills — we’ve got everything you need to keep this summer cool and relaxing! Here’s a rundown of the household tasks for a happy and healthy May.
1. Instant Curb Appeal
With summer here, it is time to spruce up the exteriors, yard, or anything that has worn out over the days. DIY a doormat with some inspiring quotes, change the hardware, or even keep some potted plants in front of the door to make your home appealing!
2. Infuse Some Green
India being a tropical country experiences unbearable summer! Although most of us have ACs and coolers at our homes and offices, nothing can beat the natural coolness of plants. Hence, introduce some greenery in your house to keep the indoor temperature low and ensure fresh and natural air.
3. Pest-Proof Your Home
We all know summer is the time is when pests like lizards, cockroaches, ants, and more start infiltrating our home and the surroundings. Hence pest-proofing your home before the summer hits is a great option to keep your home clean. Additionally, ensure that you don’t have water stored or stagnant for days anywhere near the house, as it is a breeding ground for various insects like mosquitoes, dragonfly nymphs, and more.
4. Plan Something For Your Mum
Wondering what this point has to do with the May checklist? Well, mother’s day is around the corner, and we think it’s about time you plan something for the most important woman in your life. Be it a thoughtful gift or a gesture, show your mom some love on this special day!
5. Get The Grout Cleaned
Take a good look at your bathroom. If the grout seems to be worn out, then it is probably time to clean them up. To clean, begin with washing the grout with hot water, and spray a solution made of water and vinegar and let it sit for 5 mins and scrub it out.
6. Keep Your Outdoors Ready
With spring gone, chances are your outdoor area looks like a wreck, thanks to the dead leaves lying around the house. So, clear out the dead leaves, branches, and other broken things to make your home summer ready.
7. Identify and Touch Up
With time, your house loses its charm. So, this month, identify the areas that need a quick touch up and work towards it!
8. Service Summer Appliances
With summer here, it is time to dust up appliances like AC, cooler, and more. Since, they haven’t been functional during the winter season, getting them serviced before the summer hits is a great way to gear up for the season.
9. Spruce Up your Home
When was the last time you cleaned the window sill? Like the window sill, there are a lot of other places that hardly get cleaned up. So, grab your vacuum cleaner and start cleaning!
